Dr. Harini Amarasuriya Appointed as Minister of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education

Dr. Harini Amarasuriya has been officially appointed as the Minister of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education. She took her oaths before President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on Monday (Nov 18), following the swearing-in of the new Cabinet at the Presidential Secretariat.

Dr. Amarasuriya brings a wealth of experience to the portfolio, having previously served as the Prime Minister in the transitional three-member Cabinet that was formed immediately after the recent Presidential Elections. Her appointment highlights the government’s focus on prioritizing the education sector and vocational development in the country.

The new Cabinet aims to address pressing issues within the education sector while fostering a collaborative environment for higher education reforms.
