The Faculty of Indigenous Medicine (FIM), University of Colombo, in collaboration with the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC), High Commission of India, Colombo, celebrated International Yoga Day 2025 on 19 June at the faculty premises.
FIM hosted the main event of a nationwide celebration organized by SVCC, which was held simultaneously at 116 venues across Sri Lanka. The event featured a practical yoga session conducted by a resource person from India, with the participation of approximately 120 students from the faculty.
Prof. Pathirage Kamal Perera, Dean of FIM; Prof. Ankuran Dutta, Director of SVCC; and Dr. Dhammika Abegunawardena, Commissioner General in Ayurveda, were present at the event.
