NSBM and University of Lorraine Collaborate in Retorika: Transnational Dialogues Business Plan Competition

The Department of Marketing and Tourism Management organized Retorika: Transnational Dialogues, a business plan competition, as a culmination of a virtual exchange project with the University of Lorraine, France. A diverse group of NSBM students from various faculties collaborated with law students from the University of Lorraine to develop a business plan aimed at the European market. While the NSBM students contributed business insights, the UOL students provided legal expertise for the venture.

The first round of the competition took place on December 12th, and the final round was successfully held on January 20th. The event featured an esteemed panel of judges, including Ms. Nayomi Handunnetti, founder of The T-Brex and co-founder of Cider Ceylon; Mr. Ashiq Aminuddin, Senior Trainer at Luminary Learning Solutions; and Mr. Dulinda Perera, CEO and Founder of IKON.The top four teams from the first round advanced to the finals, where the winners of the Best Promotional Video and Best Business Plan awards were announced. Vinuk Sandesh Welikala, Nuradha Ranasinghe, and Senul Senitha Jayasundera from the Faculty of Business received these honors, with their French counterparts, Camille Carriat and Noor Amari, contributing to their success.The event was attended by Madam Thilini de Silva, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Mr. Venura Colombage, Head of the Department of Marketing and Tourism Management, and other distinguished academics.
