On August 13, 2025, a delegation from Yunnan University, China, visited the University of Colombo to explore potential avenues for academic collaboration. The delegation was led by Professor Zuo Xiaolin, Vice Dean of the School of Journalism, and included nine members such as Professor Jin Qun, Assistant Dean, Professor Wei Ping, and Ms. Cheng Ying, along with several undergraduate and postgraduate students from Yunnan University.
During their visit, the delegation participated in a productive discussion with Professor Indika Mahesh Karunathilake, focusing on opportunities for student exchange programs, summer courses, online teaching and learning initiatives, and the mutual sharing of academic best practices. The discussion also included contributions from Dr. Kumesh Prabashini of the Sri Palee Campus, Professor Samantha Herath and Ms. Fathima Shanaz from the Department of Communication and Creative Arts, and Dr. Iroja Caldera, Director of the International Office.
