  • These terms govern your use of our website, content, and services. By accessing or using UniToday, you agree to comply with these terms.

Definitions

  • “Platform” refers to UniToday, including its website, services, and content.
  • “User” refers to anyone accessing or using the Platform, including readers, contributors, and advertisers.
  • “Contributor” refers to individuals or entities submitting articles or content to the Platform.

Eligibility

  • Users must be at least 18 years old or have parental/guardian consent to use the Platform.
  • Contributors must be affiliated with a Sri Lankan university or otherwise approved by the Platform’s administrators.

Content Ownership and Licensing

  • User-Generated Content: Contributors retain ownership of the content they submit but grant UniToday a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to publish, distribute, and promote the content.
  • Platform Content: All other content, including the website design, layout, and proprietary materials, is owned by UniToday and cannot be reproduced without permission.
  • Responsibility: Contributors are solely responsible for ensuring that their submissions do not infringe on intellectual property rights or violate any laws.

Submission Guidelines

  • Submissions must be original, factually accurate, and free from plagiarism.
  • Content must not contain:
    • Hate speech, offensive material, or defamatory content.
    • Content violating Sri Lankan laws or university policies.
  • UniToday reserves the right to edit, remove, or reject submissions without prior notice.

Liability Disclaimer

  • UniToday does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of user-submitted content.
  • The Platform is not liable for:
    • Errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in user-submitted content.
    • Disputes arising between contributors and third parties, including universities.
  • Users acknowledge that reliance on any content on the Platform is at their own risk.

User Conduct

  • Users must not:
    • Engage in any activity that disrupts the Platform’s services.
    • Use the Platform for illegal or unauthorized purposes.
  • Contributors must not submit content that:
    • Violates intellectual property rights.
    • Breaches university policies or guidelines.

Advertising and Promotions

  • Advertisers and event promoters must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • UniToday reserves the right to reject or remove advertisements that violate these terms.

Reporting Violations

  • Users may report violations of these terms by contacting join@unitoday.lk.
  • UniToday reserves the right to investigate and take action, including suspending or banning users.

Termination

  • UniToday may terminate or restrict access to the Platform for any user violating these terms.
  • Termination does not waive UniToday’s right to enforce these terms or seek damages for past violations.

Limitation of Liability

  • UniToday is not liable for:
    • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use of the Platform.
    • Issues beyond its control, including technical failures or unauthorized access.

Indemnification

  • Users agree to indemnify and hold UniToday harmless from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from their use of the Platform or breach of these terms.

Changes to Terms

Governing Law
